January is the hottest month in Gold Coast with an average temperature of 25°C and the coldest is July at 15°C with the most daily sunshine hours at 9 in December. The wettest month is March with an average of 203mm of rain. The best month to swim in the sea is in February when the average sea temperature is 27°C .

 

Sydney

Summer (December – February) – During summer, average temperatures range from 18.6 – 25.8°C

Autumn (March-May) – Autumn is the mildest time of year in Sydney when the humidity drops and average temperatures fall between 14.6 – 22.2°C

Winter (June – August) – Sydney’s coolest months are June to August when average temperatures drop between 8.8 – 17°C

Spring (September – November) – n spring, days are warmer but the humidity is not as high as summer. Average daily temperatures range from 11 – 23°C

Gold Coast

You can live in a really good neighborhood in Gold spending between $ 150 per week for a single room or $ 380 for all apartment with one bedroom. Gold Coast has many options for houses with huge backyards, while in Sydney is more common to find to rent apartments and small units. Also with the same money, you can rent a bigger house, closer to the beach.  

 

Sydney

Well, here is the biggest issue of this City, if you are planning to live close to the beach, prepare your pocket, you will spend around $ 230 a week for a small shared room, or if you are okay to live a little bit (forget about o little, we don’t want to scare you) far away from the beach you can find a nice single room around $ 230 per week.

 

Work

Gold Coast

You can find some difficulty in this aspect in Gold Coast, once it is a city that relies a lot on Hospitality, on winter season the city gets quiet and the job offers reduces a lot if comparing with summer. If you are a student please attention! One important point about Gold Coast is that many schools do not have evening classes, so the positions with morning shifts end up not being available for international English students. Although if you are on a Working Holiday Visa, the number of job offers on farms in Queensland is huge if compared with New South Wales. Also, is good to remind that Gold Coast itself is not a regional area, but Queensland has many cities that are regional areas for the Australian Government, which means that those areas are in demand for several kinds of work positions.

Gold Coast is also a region in growth, so with the past of the years the situation has been changing, and many companies are transferring their hubs for Gold Coast, it means that if you are a qualified professional, you might find job offers around there as well. Tweed Heads, for example, is a region with lots of new technology and communication companies, where there is always lots of job offers.

With the past of the years, the number of migrants in Sydney had a huge growth and the city is fuller and fuller every day, reason why many are migrating to other areas with potential growth. But if you are a qualified professional with a good level of English, Sydney is definitely the best place to start  your careers overseas, many of the headhunters are located here, many professionals start their career here, is also possible to find a job on the same suburb you live in, saving lots of time on traffic or transport to get to CBD.

Sydney offers to you a huge variety of prices and places to buy but based on our search we can say that you will need more effort to find reasonable prices in Sydney for food and healthcare. The transport in Sydney is based on the distance of the ride, which means more far, more expensive, and considering that it is a big city, the prices for the rides end up being very expensive.  

 

As you can see, Gold Coast is the answer to most of the questions that you must have about life in Australia.
