Summer is about to finish and with the last few days, people may be thinking what to do. Sydney is not only beaches like most people think!

Sydney and its surroundings have many options for tourism and leisure. One of the great choices is to visit one of the National Parks around Sydney. The National parks offer many options to its visitors and are a beautiful place that you can discover during any season. Please take a moment to read few tips that can bring you a brilliant experience in your life in ozzyland.

BUNDEENA

A beautiful small village, Bundeena is almost one hour driving to the south of Sydney’s city center or 30 minutes by ferry from Cronulla across Port Hacking.

Bundeena’s idyllic waters are perfect for many activities such as fishing, kayaking, and stand-up paddle-boarding. It offers also easy bushwalking trails along the scenic views of the National Park.  It is a place that you cannot miss while in Australia.

A day trip or school excursion to Royal National Park in Sydney’s south will offer plenty of opportunities for barbecues, fishing, bushwalking, birdwatching and whale watching. Also you can see in this park Figure eight pools, Marley walkRoyal, Karloo walking track and another adventure.

The Royal National National Park is open 7 am to 8.30pm but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees: $12 per vehicle per day. Seasonal ticket booths at Bonnie Vale, Wattamolla, and Garie Beach are cash only, as there is no power or mobile connection. Please bring correct change.

LANE COVE NATIONAL PARK – SYDNEY WEST

Lane Cove National Park is a beautiful pocket of bushland that sits on either side of the peaceful Lane Cove River. It’s in easy reach for Sydneysiders, extending from East Ryde to Pennant Hills and West Chatswood.

There are lots of picnic areas to choose from, including those that offer picnic tables, barbecues, children’s play equipment, flat grassy areas and easy access to walking tracks and places to ride your bike. You’re bound to find a perfect place to picnic for the day.
Hit the walking tracks to explore the park’s bushland, hire a boat from the Lane Cove Boatshed to row along the quiet Lane Cove River or cycle along the park’s roads.

  • Lane Cove National Park is open 9 am to 7 pm during daylight savings (until 6 pm at other times). The park may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.
  • Park entry fees:$8 per vehicle per day. The park has coin-operated pay and display machines – please bring correct coins.Bus: $4.40 per adult, $2.20 per child (per day). Prior payment may be required, please phone the Chatswood office for more information.

SYDNEY HARBOUR NATIONAL PARK – MIDDLE HEAD – SYDNEY HARBOUR

Middle Head is a superb lookout spot in Sydney Harbour National Park. From this outstanding vantage point, you can follow the Pacific Ocean to the horizon, framed by North and South Heads. The panoramic view extends to the Eastern Suburbs, Middle Harbour, and Manly. It pays off to explore this exotic Park.

  • Sydney Harbour National Park is open sunrise to sunset but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.
  • Park entry fees:Bradleys Head carpark: $8 per vehicle per day. North Head carpark: $5 per vehicle per day. There are pay and display machines that accept cards and coins – no change given. Chowder Bay Road parking: Monday-Friday: $3 per hour, to a maximum of $16 per day. Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays: $4 per hour, to a maximum of $20 per day. If you hold an NPWS All Parks or Multi Parks Pass, you can park free for up to four hours per day – additional time can be purchased. Car parks operated by Sydney Harbour Federation Trust or Mosman Council are not covered by your pass. Please check signs carefully.Other fees:Landing fee or tour fee applies to visit Sydney Harbour Islands. Fort Denison can only be visited on a tour. To visit Shark, Clark or Rodd islands Island, all vessels, including kayaks, need to pay a $7 per person landing fee.
