Dear Reader,
In general terms, the announced changes for 457, ENS (Permanent visas) and Citizenship will be coming into the effect within next few months. For now, the legislation is being formulated and proposed to the Senate.
It is our view that there will be 3 streams for clients to get the PR in the future:
1. Skilled migration – where they will have education and experience from overseas. They will come and improve their English skills and apply for PR.
2. Sponsorship – where the clients will come with some skills and some experience, they will study English and/or vocational course and seek employment and sponsorship.
3. Graduate visa where clients will study eligible courses, have their English level. Receive 485 visa and than seek either Skill migration or Sponsorship visas
4. Obviously the partner visas will remain. However the processing times are now extending and clients will ultimately be looking around 4 years until they get the PR.
What it means for you
– there will be changes coming it, it will get harder for some to get the 457. The whole game will change. It is important to understand that you need to plan your future prospect in Australia from the first course.
