As you have heard, there will be a change to the student visa processing from 31 March 2017.
The main change is that all education providers offering students to overseas student and also students themselves will be allocated an immigration risk rating (both between 1 – 3, where 1 is the lowest risk level).
This combined risk rating of a provider and the student will determine the evidence the applicant will have to provide when submitting their application.
The immigration risk rating of providers and countries will be updated on 31 March 2017. Students should use the Document Checklist Tool to determine the required evidence for their application (e.g English proficiency, financial evidence).
It is important to note that applications lodged after 31 March 2017 will have to provide additional information with their application.
Please also note, that the immigration risk rating of education providers reflects their recruitment practices and not the educational quality.
